HAMBLEDEN made it two wins in the space of eight days against the same opponents, Great Missenden, on Saturday.
Having won away in the cup the previous week Hambleden secured all three points from this Wycombe and District League Senior Division encounter. Hambleden started the game in control. Good possession and some good play down the right allowed a chance for Paul Reading but his effort flashed past the post. Missenden’s direct approach caused problems for the Hambleden defence but each attack was dealt with resolutely.
Good play down the left from Hambleden led to Martin Collings turning and curling an effort into the top corner for the opening goal.
Hambleden went close to increasing their lead but Lewis Brown’s effort went wide. Great Missenden kept pressing with their talisman Pooley causing havoc, and he was rewarded when he chased a through ball, rounded the home keeper and slotted home for the equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
