Little's late strike wins it for league leaders

WATLINGTON Town marched on in the North Berks League as two late goals overturned an early Grove Rangers lead to rescue three points for the Division 3 league leaders last Saturday.

Grove took an early first-half lead and defended well for long periods before a barrage of second half Watlington pressure eventually told, as Town turned the game around in spectacular fashion with late goals from Edgar Garces and Jon Little. For Town’s equaliser, Ollie Lynch’s inch-perfect free kick cross evaded the Grove defence and Garces was on hand to fire in from close range with the outside of his right boot.

Not content with a point Town were eventually rewarded moments from the end as Jon Little joined the attack at a late corner kick and swept in the loose ball to spark rapturous celebrations among the home team.
