A TEAM from Rotherfield United Football Club is to play its home games in Peppard.

FC Ole, a men’s side which plays in the Reading and District Sunday League, has hired the pitch off Stoke Row Road from the parish council.

It wants to avoid clashes with other teams that play their home matches at the Bishopswood recreation ground in Sonning Common, where the club is based.

Councillor Clive Mills said it was “brilliant” that the pitch and pavilion would be used and said the move could become permanent.

The team can use floodlights for evening training sessions until 9pm subject to a safety inspection.
