Rebels enjoy end of season winning run

WITH a backlog of Division 1 Berkshire Youth Development League fixtures due to postponements, ROTHERFIELD UNITED REBELS U10s have embarked on a series of matches that will see them play seven games in two weeks.

The Rebels got their gruelling run of fixtures off to a flying starts as they beat MAIDENHEAD ESTUDIANTES U10s 2-1.

Aaron Bishop opened the scoring for Rotherfield early on in the game from a Charlie Wagstaff corner. Rotherfield maintained the lead until just after half time when Maidenhead caught them on the break to level the score.

Jack White played a one-two with Iwan John before turning and firing home the winner.

In their second match the Rebels defeated WOKINGHAM AND EMMBROOK U10s 4-2. Joe Macdonald netted a hat-trick for the Rebels while Jack White netted the fourth.

The third match saw the Rebels beat title-chasing WESTWOOD WANDERERS GREEN U10s 2-0.

The Rebels went ahead when a fumbled ball by the Westwood goalkeeper found Iwan John who calmly slotted home.

The second half saw Westwood upping the pressure but from a break down the right wing Charlie Wagstaff smashed the ball home to wrap up the points.

Rotherfield made it four wins on the bounce when they beat WESTWOOD WANDERERS GREEN U10s for the second time in two days on Monday.

Charlie Wagstaff beat five players before switching the ball to Jack White who netted the decisive goal.
