JAMES MORTLOCK netted two first half goals to help GORING UNITED ease to a 4-0 Division 1 victory against basement side WOODLEY TOWN A.

Mortlock opened the scoring after just four minutes before Jack Purser doubled the home side’s lead six minutes later. Mortlock scored his second of the match on 24 minutes to put his side 3-0 up at half-time.

Daniel Phillips scored United’s fourth goal after 54 minutes to complete the scoreline.

In Division 2 WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES drew 1-1 away to promotion-chasing BAUGHURST AFC.

Woodcote took the lead through Mike Higley after 10 minutes and dominated for long spells. Baughurst equalised just before half-time before having a player sent off on the hour mark. However, Woodcote were unable to make the breakthrough to snatch the win.

GORING UNITED RESERVES remain rooted at the foot of the table without a point after narrowly going down 3-2 away to THEALE.

ROTHERFIELD UNITED RESERVES picked up their second Division 3 win of the season as they ran out 2-1 winners away to AFC CORINTHIANS RESERVES.

The visitors took the lead after 12 minutes. Paul Arthur played the ball to Paul Langham on the edge of the box who split the defence with a diagonal pass to Mike Hunt who rounded the keeper to score.

A counterattack from the left side resulted in brothers Ryan and Ian Holmes combining well before the latter crossed to the back post where man-of-the-match Ben Cousins’ scissor-kick nestled in the far left hand side netting to put United 2-0 up after 30 minutes.

Corinthians pulled a goal back five minutes before the interval when a free kick was headed into his own net by Daniel Luff.

Richard Jones scored a goal and set up five others to help WARGRAVE RESERVES thrash TAPLOW UNITED A 6-0.

The other Wargrave goals were scored by Dan Tegg, Richard Jones, Jamie Elston, Ben Carter and Jason Heath. The only down side for Wargrave was the dismissal of Aaron Williams after 70 minutes.
