CHRIS READ hit his second successive hat-trick as EMMER GREEN eased to a 5-1 Senior Division victory away at third-placed EASTERN RANGERS.
The visitors thought they had taken the lead early on but had a header scored from Adam Tombs ruled out for offside.
Emmer Green eventually took the lead after 30 minutes when Read netted from open play. Soon after the visitors had a penalty awarded when a corner from Daniel Donegan found brother John who hit his shot on the volley and as it was heading into the left hand corner an arm from a Rangers player blocked the shot. Daniel Donegan converted to make it 2-0.
Emmer Green extended their lead early in the second half when from a Daniel Donegan corner Read headed home for his second of the match.
Fifteen minutes later Emmer Green saw a repeat of their third goal after Daniel Donegan delivered another corner again to find the head of Read at the back post for him to head home and claim his hat-trick.
The visitors wrapped up their scoring when Read took on a defender before squaring to Daniel Donegan who netted his second of the game. Rangers hit back late in the game to score a consolation goal.
