Finch's strike proves decisive

Of the games that were played, GORING UNITED slipped to the foot of Division 1 West as basement side BURGHFIELD leapfrogged them thanks to a 4-1 win.



A disappointing performance in the first half by the visitors saw them trail 3-0 at half-time.



Burghfield made it 4-0 early in the second half before Sam Green went on a mazy run, beating four defenders before firing home a consolation goal for the visitors.





Goring went close to pulling a further goal back but Greenâ??s 30-yard free kick cannoned off the post.



SC UNITED maintained their Division 2 West promotion push thanks to a 1-0 victory at Bishopswood against WHITLEY ATHLETIC.



On a boggy pitch Unitedâ??s left winger Arran Finch scored the only goal 10 minutes into the second half with a 30 yard free kick swung in at the back post.



United went on to hit the woodwork three more times but couldnâ??t add to their score.



In Division 3 East MAPLEDURHAM went down to a 3-2 defeat at home to LE GALAXY while in Division 4 West basement side GORING UNITED RESERVES lost 2-1 at home to THE BUGLE.
