EMMER GREEN’S hopes of winning the Senior Division title is out of their hands after they drew their final match of the season 1-1 away to RICHFIELD ROVERS.
The visitors took the lead in the first half when Daniel Donegan converted fromthe penalty spot after Matt Fox was fouled in the area. The hosts equalised later in the second half.
Emmer Green are one point clear of Wrightchoice Group who play their final match of the season this weekend.
Elsewhere in the division KIDMORE END picked up all three points as they defeated relegated basement side GHANA STARS 2-0 away.
HENLEY TOWN experienced mixed fortunes as they attempted to pull away from the Premier Division relegation zone. At home to THE COUNTY Tom Shepherd gave Henley the lead, which they held until the 44th minute when the visitors equalised from a corner.
Four minutes into the second period, the County took the lead and increased it midway through the half. Henley then conceded three goals in the closing minutes as they pushed forward to try and reduce their arrears as they went down 6-1.
Two days later HENLEY TOWN defeated TILEHURST YMCA at Henley YMCA’s ground.
After a goalless first half, Tilehurst took the lead on the 55th minute. Francis Payne brought Henley level before Sam Bell junior gave them the lead. Tilehurst equalised in the 88th minute but a minute from time Henley were awarded a penalty which Ollie Maskell converted to give the Red Kites a 3-2 victory.
HENLEY TOWN failed to maintain this form on Sunday and were 4-0 down in 32 minutes against visitors PURLEY.
The second half was more even, but Purley still scored twice more. Ryan Finch reduced Henley’s arrears as they crashed to a 6-1 defeat.
