ROTHERIELD BEES U9s hit top form to crush WOODLEY BLUES U8s 9-0 in a match that saw Arnar Davenport net his first hat-trick for the club.
Goals arrived early, the first two from Davenport’s corners, Ollie McDonnell heading in the first and Joe Norris side-footing the second.
Rotherfield peppered the Woodley goal, coming close several times before Davenport made it 3-0 after showing strength to hold off challenges from the Blues defence. Felix Hampton was the next scorer with a composed finish after an incisive through ball and Davenport got his second to make it 5-0 just before half-time.
The Bees scored again with a counterattack, McDonnell and Joe Norris combining in midfield before threading Joe Biggin in to score his first goal for Rotherfield from an acute angle. McDonnell came close to adding to the score twice, hitting the crossbar from long range, while Mael Le Paih’s corner almost curled in from the left side without any help from another boot.
It was Le Paih putting pressure on the Blues defence that led to an own goal that made it 7-0 before Davenport got his hat-trick with another far post header from a corner to make it 8-0.
