Kites’ youth team end season on losing note

HENLEY TOWN Youth lost their last match of the season when they went down 4-1 at Reading Town last week, writes John Bailey.

This was a disappointment after the side’s recent strong performances, but it made no difference to their finishing position in the Central Division of the Allied Counties Youth League, in which they came sixth out of nine.

Most of Henley’s very young side will be eligible to play at youth level for another two seasons, so, in holding their own, the side shows great promise for the future.

The match at Scours Lane was the last of the season for all the Red Kites’ teams, though there is a large number of extramural games that have either been played at the Invesco Perpetual Triangle already or are still to come. These include the five-a-side tournament for local business tomorrow (Saturday), starting at 12 noon.
