Reading on their travels for season opener

READING kick off and end their 2015/16 Championship season with away fixtures, it was announced on

READING kick off and end their 2015/16 Championship season with away fixtures, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Royals will kick off the season on August 8 with a trip to St Andrew’s to face Birmingham City before hosting Leeds United at Madejski Stadium in their first home game of the campaign on August 15.

Reading will play their first ever competitive fixture against newly promoted Milton Keynes Dons at home on August 22 before making the short trip to Griffin Park on August 29 to face last season’s play-off semi-finalists Brentford.

September sees the Royals hosting Ipswich Town and Derby County before travelling to newly promoted Bristol City and a trip to relegated Premier League side Burnley.

Over the Christmas and New Year period Reading will travel to Wolves on Boxing Day before hosting Brentford on December 28 and Bristol City on January 2.



With no fixtures scheduled over Easter, Reading will play seven matches in April â?? four at home and three away.

Reading end their campaign with a home match with Preston North End on April 30 before travelling to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers on May 7.

Meanwhile in the first round of the Capital One Cup Reading have been drawn away to Colchester United.
