Freeman’s brace not enough for hosts

AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U13s lost out 4-3 in their East Berks League clash at home to HARTS YOUTH DYNAMOS U13s on Saturday.

AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U13s lost out 4-3 in their East Berks League clash at home to HARTS YOUTH DYNAMOS U13s on Saturday.

A good start to the game from the hosts saw Jem McAllister intercept the ball in midfield, beat the Dynamos’ defence and lay off to Luke Freeman who calmly put it away to give Henley an early lead. A long range shot from McAllister rattled the woodwork denying Henley the opportunity to extend their lead soon after.

Soon after Dynamos’ made the most of a throw in and put pressure on Henley’s defence only to have a goal disallowed by the offside flag.

More pressure from the Dynamos saw them win a free kick which they duly converted to level the scores just before half-time. In the second half an early run across the Dynamos’ defenders by Justus Larter assisted Archie Barker to take the lead for Henley.

Henley, unable to clear the ball deep in their half, saw Dynamos once again level the score. Soon after the visitors added two more goals to go 4-2 up.

The hosts pulled a goal back soon after when battling play from Freeman near the final whistle enabled him to take a shot from a wide angle to score.
