Holders Emmer Green make charity cup exit

EMMER GREEN bowed out of the Tilehurst Charity Cup on Sunday losing 3-0 at DEE ROAD RANGERS.

The defending champions put in a patchy performance but did well to keep the score 0-0 at half-time despite Dee Road having more attempts on target.

The visitors soon found themselves 2-0 down in the second half before they rallied and increased the pressure on Dee Road. However, Emmer Green were unable to find the back of the net and Dee Road scored their third of the game to send the visitors out of this season’s competition.

There was better fortune for HENLEY TOWN in the E Cambridge Cup as they progressed to the next round after running out 4-1 winners at TILEHURST TITANS.

Sam Earl opened the scoring for the visitors before Hugh Barklem netted a hat-trick.
