HENLEY Town Football Club are seeking volunteers to help out on match days and with the administration duties.

The club, who are currently third in Division 1 East of the Uhlsport Hellenic League and pushing for promotion, are the oldest in the county, having been formed in 1871.

Unlike many clubs that have wealthy backers, Henley rely on volunteers and exist on sponsorship from local companies, donations and fund-raising by members.

Non-league football doesn’t attract large crowds but whatever the attendance the cost of running the club remains the same. A typical league match costs more than £250 a game to put on to pay for officials.

The club have volunteer vacancies in administration for confirming fixtures with the opposing team and match officials and team sheets. The club also seek volunteers to help with the bar, prepare the pitch and cut the grass.

Anyone who is interested in helping out at the club as a volunteer or is able to sponsor a match, should contact Kim Chapman on 07515 892909 or email itskim andrew106 @gmail.com
