Robins overturn deficit to leave United rattled

GORING ROBINS U14s came back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a hard fought win over

GORING ROBINS U14s came back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a hard fought win over local rivals Rotherfield in an at times feisty encounter, writes Tim Monk.

The first 30 minutes were close fought but Rotherfield took the lead when the Goring defence switched off.

A second followed shortly, however, immediately after half-time. Bertie Spencer was fouled allowing James Pearson to convert a penalty. Matthew Bell added a second and Pearson fired in an unstoppable effort before Rotherfield missed a late penalty.

This rattled the visitors who received two late yellow cards as they lost their composure and failed to threaten the Goring defence.
