TOMMY KING netted a hat-trick as hosts Watlington Reserves secured a much-needed win over North Berks League Division 2 second-placed side Sutton Courtenay Reserves on Saturday.
Promotion-chasing Sutton Courtenay Reserves took the lead against the run of play as they capitalised on their best chance in the first half early on.
The visitors were pegged back when centre-forward King netted his first of the game on 35 minutes when he stooped to head in substitute Josh Heycock’s pinpoint cross.
Within minutes Town were ahead after King volleyed in a cross left-footed from a free kick to the side of the box.
Midway through the second half King picked up the ball in midfield before unleashing a drive into the top-left corner from outside the box with his right foot to complete the ‘perfect’ treble.
King missed glaring chances to add to his tally as he volleyed over from close range twice before the visitors pulled a goal back late on to ensure a tense finale.
