Denton’s side secure challenge honours

THE trio of Alan Denton, Mike Biddle and James Pike carded 90 points to win

THE trio of Alan Denton, Mike Biddle and James Pike carded 90 points to win the Captain’s Challenge midweek competition at Mapledurham.

The competition, competed for by 30 teams, comprised teams of three with the best two Stableford scores counting.

Runners-up were John Daniels, Garry Barton and Steve Briggs on 84 who were one ahead of third place team Paul Druce, Darren Druce and Rod Wessen scoring 83.

There were prizes for nearest the pin on all par three holes. These were won by Colston Davey, Simon Sawyer, Terry Spice, Berni Doyle, Ian Goodall, Mike Sheriden and Karen Bridges.

The longest drive competitions went to Tanveer Abbas and Karen Bridges.
