Headteacher to step down after year

THE headteacher at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge is stepping down.

Briony Bowers, who took over at the Reades Lane secondary school from Andy Hartley at the start of 2024, has announced she will be stepping down from the role before the spring term.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “We are grateful for her significant contributions to the school and wish her every success in her future endeavours.” She will be replaced by Emma Bliss, who has been a member of the school’s leadership team since 2016. Miss Bliss said: “Having worked at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge for eight years, I have grown to love being part of this wonderful school and supportive community.

“The growth, development, and wellbeing of our children are my highest priorities as I assume the role of interim headteacher.

“I look forward to working with our whole community to build on the great work already accomplished and to embrace the opportunities ahead.”
