THREE golfers completed a gruelling 72-holes in one day at Caversham Heath Golf Club last Friday.
Dave Williams, Gareth Goodall, Chris Green and Ben Seal completed the four full rounds as part of the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge, walking more than 20 miles, carrying their own clubs — no caddies or buggies.
The foursome started their marathon at 4.30am when there was just about enough light to see to tee off, and walked into the clubhouse, tired and weary at 7.30pm that evening.
They completed the marathon in 15 hours - including a 20 minute break after the first two rounds, and a 15 minute break before setting out on the last round.
The first round was completed amid the sprinklers and greenkeepers out preparing the course in three hours flat.
