Maunder and Ellis team up to secure captain’s day crown
THE pairing of Julie Maunder and Tracey Ellis won Henley Golf Club’s ladies’ captain’s day competition.

Hosted by ladies’ captain Marie-Paule Norgrove, the four ball better ball Stableford competition saw Maunder and Ellis triumph with a score of 46 points which was three points better than the runners-up Kate Hillas and Caroline Archibald.

The pairing of Sally Woolven and Jacquie McCourt also recorded 43 points but lost second place on the countback rule.

Rachel Hall and Maggi Buffin came fourth on countback with a score of 42 points.

Best front nine competition was won by Cindy Weight and Delia Norris with 22 points whilst the same score won the back nine competition for Elaine Dudeney and Caroline Thomas. There were also nearest the pin prizes for Morag Broom and Mary Wingrove. Callum Miller continued his impressive season as he won the Vlasto Trophy on Saturday at Badgemore Park.
