GORING and Streatley Golf Club recently held its annual club championships, including handicap and scratch competitions.
Always a highlight of the club’s year, the event saw more than 100 golfers take part over the two days.
The handicap competition was a close-run event, with Paul Rainsden leading for much of the day.
With eight superb birdies Rainsden carded a gross 68, net 66. However, David Lane would post a gross 67, net 66 to tie Rainsden at the top.
But eventually, 33 strokes over the last 10 holes took Lane into the lead on countback.
