IN ONE of the final competitions of the year, 10 boys and five girls from Henley Golf Club’s junior section competed for the first playing of the Peter Phillips Trophy.
After a keenly fought contest, continuing into fading light, Angus Harris-White was crowned winner.
Gillotts pupil Harris-White has come through the club scholarship scheme and scored a gross 77 three shots below his 10 handicap.
After a successful season 13-year-old Harris-White is currently leading the junior order of merit at Henley.
Peter Phillips, who was captain of Henley Golf Club in 1994 and was the manager of the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Junior Boys’ squad for seven years, presented the prize.
