Hosts secure honours in pro am team event

BENN BARHAM ran out winner of Henley Golf Club’s 35th pro-am day last Sunday.

This year’s prize fund was boosted by extra funding by Reading based company Westcoast and attracted some of the best pro golfers in the PGA southern region.

Winner Barham picked up his biggest cheque this year of £3,000 with a score of 64. Dan Seymour of Caversham Heath Golf Club scored 65 to take the runner-up position which was a shot better than Scott Stevens from Staplehurst Golf Centre.

Bruce McDonald recorded a hole in one on the fourth hole.

The team event was won by the Henley trio of Dave Griffin, Nick Grainger and Simon Barrington along with pro Nico Els of Clandon Regis Golf Club with a score of 18 under.
