NEWCOMER Rowan Stacey triumphed in the Junior President’s Day Prize at Henley Golf Club.
Stacey, who scored 39 Stableford points off his 26 handicap was one of 18 golfers competing in the tournament.
Will Sykes (17) came second with 37 points and Cameron Greig (20) just edged third place with 34 points in a three-way countback from Jack Fairhall and Alex Harris-White. Mairi Weir (32) with 33 points won the girls’ prize while Leo Allen won the special prize for above 36 handicap with 41 points that saw his handicap cut to 43.
The previous day four of the lower handicap juniors had played in the Thames Valley Junior League’s Golfer of the Year competition where they finished third. The team comprised Jack Fairhall, Ben Chapman and Gillotts brothers Alex and Angus Harris-White.
