THE countback rule thwarted Scott Iremonger twice in a 10-day period at Caversham Heath.

In Division 1 of the February stableford Richard Monk pipped Iremonger to top spot, both recording 35 points. Ten days later countback also cost him third place in the midweek stableford Division 1.

Kevin Allaway was third in the weekend stableford, on countback from Ian Traynor, both with 34 points.

Division 2 winner was Kevin Iremonger with 37 points. Runner-up was Wayne Oliver with 35 points and third was Roger Newman with 33 points.

Twos were recorded by Kevin Allaway and Wayne Oliver, both on the 13th hole.

Sam Weller took the Division 1 honours in the midweek stableford with 40 points. Runner-up was Barry Reynolds with 37 points. Nick Ford was placed third, on countback from the unlucky Scott Iremonger and Lynne Rumbold, all three with 35 points.

Division 2 winner was Mervyn Jones on countback from Steve Wright, both with 35 points. Third was Michael Biles on countback from Kjersti Cannon, both with 34 points.

Twos were recorded by Matthew Perry, Sam Weller, David Little, Lynne Rumbold and Steve Driver.

Love was in the air at the St Valentine’s Day competition played off 3/8th handicap. Winners were Wendy Bushell and Glen Dudman with 42 points. Second were Angela and Clive Adamson with 40 points and third was Sheila Evans and Stephen Gelsthorpe with 39 points.
