DAVE SEXON, the new Henley Golf Club captain, drove into office last Sunday with a 220-yard drive down the fairway.

Sexon, who lives in Woodcote, had the privilege of playing with Seve Ballesteros in 2005 at the Harpsden golf course which was arranged by the PTA of The Oratory School as a leaving present following his retirement as headmaster of the school.

Before the drive-in the club organised a shot gun team stableford competition which was won by the team of father and son Chris and George Maxted, Dave Williams and Sanu Yonjan with 78 points.

One point behind was the foursome of past captain Richard Fenn, Cliff Austin, Stewart Mills and Phil Booth whilst the team of Danny Franks, Paul Sherwood, Colin Grimmett and Dave Crooks were a further point behind in third place.
