MORE than 100 players competed at Badgemore Park Golf Club’s captain’s day competition hosted by Terry Denby.

With a shotgun start 18-hole Stableford competition being held in the morning, and the course set up at its shortest length, the scores came in low.

The winner of the men’s trophy was David Woodyer with a score of 44 points while the ladies’ trophy was won by Margery Dray also with 44 points.

In the afternoon players competed in a fun team nine hole event set out by captain Denby where each player had one kick, one throw and a piece of string to use as a free shot to aid the scoring.

For the captains’ chosen charity, The Samaritans, there were many fund-raising events throughout the day with putting and chipping competitions, raffles and auctions. Almost £700 was raised.
