A PROFESSIONAL from Badgemore Park Golf Club competed in a long drive tournament in America.
Lee Gauthier was one of 192 competitors who entered the 2013 Re/max World Long Drive Championships in Nevada.
He was eliminated in the first play-offs, during which entrants had to hit rounds of six balls as far as possible.
Mr Gauthier, 31, said he was distracted by high winds which forced the contest to be postponed.
He said: “We were playing downwind so the balls were going off the end of the grid. I would usually expect to get nine or 10 shots out of 12 in the grid but I only got four.”
