HENLEY captain Dave Sexon had a weekend to remember last week.

On Saturday he beat the in-form Ian Heggie in the rain-delayed final of the Fleming Cup competition which is the main men’s singles knockout event while on Sunday he partnered Paul Masterman to win the Garnham Cup.

Their better ball score of 43 Stableford points was good enough to take the trophy by two points from the pairing of Euan Fenwick and Stephen Brown. Dave Crooks and partner Paul Sherwood were third with 40 points.

A qualifying Stableford competition for the ladies saw Jocelyn Brown win the silver A division with 35 points. Mary Smith took bronze A with 32 points whilst Tracey Ellis recorded the same score to take the bronze B division.
