BADGEMORE PARK was the venue of some tight competitions that saw two holes-in-one in the space of four days.
Off the back of a 3-0 defeat in the Scratch League Knockout away to Burford, Badgemore bounced back with an AB team win 4.5-1.5 at Winter Hill, retaining the WinBad decanter, while the mixed team scored a success away to Henley Golf Club, 4.5-3.5.
The Scotch Trophy team competition was won by Sheila Spreadborough, Graham Cheese and Nathan Cole, scoring 83 points. Second and third positions were decided on countback with two teams returning 82 points. Dorothy Arlett, David Carr and Mick Ford were edged out to third by Lesley Shurman, Keith Cheese and Mark Brooks.
Nathan Cole made a hole-in-one at the par three 13th while a second hole-in-one was made by lady captain, Sylvine Andrews on the par three 17th during the ladies’ medal.
Ken Arlett led the Badgemore C team to victory over the Springs, 3.5-2.5 while the captain’s invitation team were victorious over a past captain’s team on the final day of the weekend.
