THE final board competition took place at Henley Golf Club last week when the qualification for this year’s Autumn Foursomes competition took place in conjunction with the running of the Charles Luker Memorial Cup competition.
Taking the spoils were John Baker and Roger Norris with a score of 39 points which was three better than runners-up Ian Heggie and Chris Fisher. Peter Craig and Matthew Gladdish also recorded level par 36 points but were denied the runners-up spot on the countback rule. The result meant that those with a score of 32 points or more all qualified for the knockout stage of the Autumn Foursomes.
The ladies’ section ran the Collins Cup competition and this proved successful for Clare Dodds who won both round one and two in silver class along with the Collins Cup.
Winners of round one and two in Division 2 were ladies’ captain Jacqui McCourt and Gill Mitchell. Stephanie Gibbons took round one of bronze Division 1 and Miriam Dalton took round two. In bronze Division 2 Eunice Jackson was successful in round one whilst round two was won by Kathy Hooper.
