Fresh fence

A BOUNDARY fence in Wallingford Road, Goring, is being replaced by Network Rail.

It is between the station and the bridge and, where possible, the new fence should enable the pavement to be widened to make it safer for pedestrians and wheelchair users.

Each year, there are more than 60,000 pedestrian movements along the pavement, mainly to and from the station.

The work, which was due to be completed by today (Friday), follows a long campaign by the village’s mobility issues group, which also successfully lobbied for passenger lifts at the station.
