GORING and Woodcote’s GP surgeries are urging patients not to forget their appointments.
They say more than 100 are missed across the two sites every month despite reminders being sent to patients by text 48 hours beforehand.
From now on, repeat offenders will be invited to discuss their situation with senior managers and could be struck off if their conduct does not improve.
A spokeswoman said: “This is a huge number of patient appointments that are wasted and could have been offered to others.
“If you find you can’t keep your appointment or no longer need it, please let us know by phone or by email. The sooner you can let us know, the sooner we can offer the appointment to another patient.
“We know some patients may have become unwell so our new policy will have appropriate medical input.
“Any decision to remove a patient from our list will only be taken after full partner discussion and when all other appropriate intervention has failed.”
