New £8.7m Townlands finally set to go-ahead

THE redevelopment of Townlands Hospital in Henley should be confirmed tomorrow (Saturday).

NHS Property Services set a target date of February 1 to have ironed out any remaining issues with the business plan before signing a contract with the developer Amber Solutions for Care as well as key shareholders Oxfordshire County Council and Sue Ryder.

Separate agreements need to be reached with Royal Berkshire Hospital and the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group for providing services at the new hospital.

It means that building work on the new the £8.7 million health campus can begin the late spring.

The project has been delayed nine times and was originally meant to be completed three years ago.
