Hospital plan delayed

FINAL details of the redevelopment of Townlands Hospital in Henley are still being considered.

Plans for the £8.7 million “health campus” were given conditional approval by NHS Property Services last month.

Ian Reissmann, chairman of the Townlands Steering Group, told a meeting of the town council on Tuesday that there was one remaining item being considered.

Either the contracts would be signed or delays would continue, he said.

Because the issue was commercially sensitive, details had not been provided to the town council, he added.Councillor Reissmann said the steering group was due to meet yesterday (Thursday) but he had nothing new to report and he hoped it would meet later this month instead.
