A NEW outreach clinic run by the Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading has opened at the Bell surgery in Henley.

The clinic will be run initially on a trial basis for patients with either private medical insurance or on a self-pay basis but the long-term aim is to also accommodate NHS Choose & Book patients.

Margaret da Costa, hospital director, said: "The main purpose is to be able to offer a more convenient place for patients to see consultants in a first-class clinical environment without having to travel to Reading."

All diagnostics such as CT and MRI scans and theatre procedures would still be carried out at the private hospital.
