Flu jab surgeries

SURGERIES in the Henley area are offering free NHS flu vaccinations to people who are deemed to be at risk of developing potentially serious complications from flu.

These include the over-65s, pregnant women and children or adults with a serious underlying health condition such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart conditions, spleen problems, kidney or liver disease or those with a weakened immune system.

The vaccine is also offered to carers or those living in residential homes as well as to healthcare workers.

It will also be offered routinely to all children who were aged two to four on August 31 and those in school years one and two.

The NHS says that as different strains of flu emerge each year, it is important to have a vaccination annually at this time of year.

The clinics are as follows:

The Hart Surgery, Henley — Saturdays, September 26 and October 31 (am only) and October 7 (7am-8.30am) and October 13 (6.30pm-8.30pm) — adults; Tuesday and Wednesday from early October (pm) — children.

The Bell Surgery, Henley — Saturdays, October 3 and November 7 — adults.

Mill Stream Surgery, Benson — Saturday, October 17 (8.30am-noon) — adults.

The Brook Surgery, Watlington — Wednesday, October 14 (9am to 3pm) — adults.

Nettlebed Surgery — Saturdays, September 19 and 26 (8.30am-noon) — adults.
