FREE parking will continue to be provided at the new Townlands Hospital in Henley.
The new £16million “health campus” is nearing completion and NHS Property Services, a government company which owns the site, has confirmed it will not be charging patients or staff.
Earlier this month Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust revealed it was consulting staff over plans to introduce parking charges at community hospitals.
But a spokesman for NHS Property Services ruled out the move at the York Road hospital.
He said: “We plan to continue providing free parking at the new hospital for the benefit of patients and staff. Car parking policy is reviewed regularly at all our sites.”
In August developers Amber Solutions for Care held an exhibition showing new plans for the hospital, which included moving parking underground to increase the green space on the site.
