THE Henley College has appointed its first ever permanent female principal.
Jayne Davis will take over in the new year from Tom Espley, who is retiring at the end of December after 10 years in the post.
Mrs Davis is currently deputy principal at Havant Sixth Form College in Hampshire and has worked in the sixth form college sector for almost 15 years.
She was previously head of the business departments at Ormskirk Grammar School in Lancashire and Totton College in Hampshire.
She told the Henley Standard: It is a real privilege to be selected to lead a college with such an excellent reputation. I am excited about joining the Henley-on-Thames community and helping the college to go from strength-to-strength in the coming years.
Jasminder Love, who chairs the college governors, said: Jayne has an excellent track record in the education sector and her appointment was ratified with confidence by the governing body.
We have found someone with the experience, skills and ambition to drive our vision to be an outstanding sixth form college for all.
