NOW that they are coming down, a last word on this year’s summer hanging baskets in Henley.
It comes from Gill Novak, manager of Rive Gauche in Hart Street, which was one of the businesses that responded to the Henley Standard’s Going for Gold campaign.
We launched the campaign in April in a bid to fill the town with colour and help win a gold award at this year’s Britain in Bloom competition.
A total of 171 baskets were bought by town centre businesses and residents, one more than the target and eight better than last year’s total.
Rive Gauche bought two baskets and the plants in one grew 6ft deep.
