HENLEY Literary Festival has sold a record number of tickets this year.
More than 15,000 have been sold in two months, topping last year’s sales of 14,500.
Attendances will be at least 20 per cent higher than in 2012, when the festival became a week-long event for the first time.
Harriet Reed, events director, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response to this year’s line-up, both from locals and those who travel here from all around the country — and even from the Continent.
“We made a real effort to offer the most varied and interesting programme possible, at affordable prices, and are thrilled to be ahead of expectations with two weeks still to go.”
