Charity lunch starts show

THIS year’s Henley House and Garden Show was launched at the Phyllis Court Club pavilion.

Sixty people attended a lunch where £1,500 was raised for the Chilten Centre for disabled children.

Show director Niki Schäfer, an interior designer, said: “It was absolutely wonderful. Everybody was in a great mood, the sun had come out and the food was fantastic — it could not have gone better.”

Another 75 people attended an evening event for sponsors and exhibitors.

The show will be held on March 2 and 3 and will have a butterflies and bees theme with a focus on conservation. For more information, visit www.thehenleyhouse
