THE mermaid statue at the Red Lion Lawn has been reinstated after it was removed for repairs in January.

Amaryllis, a 6ft 6in bronze sculpture, was targeted by vandals and removed from its plinth and left leaning on railings.

Repairs were made by a foundry in Stroud at a cost of £8,500, which was covered by Henley Town Council’s insurance.
