A PLOUGHING match and country market will take place at Bishopsland in Dunsden on Sunday.
The annual event is organised by the Henley and District Agricultural Association and will feature trailer rides, terrier and ferret racing, a heavy horse display, children’s rides and a poultry auction.
There will also be two working areas, including a tillage working section with modern, classic and vintage tractors using a range of ploughs and cultivators, and a ringed working area where there will be a steam engine and threshing drum, tractor log-splitting and a chaff cutter.
A log-chopping competition will take place from 1pm with teams of three competing to chop five rings of wood with axes and post them through a small hole to win a £100 cash prize.
There will also be craft stands in the marquee, trade stands and a bar and refreshments. The day will begin with the blessing of the plough at 9.15am.
