PARENTS of children at Badgemore Pre-School have been told that it is to close in three weeks.
The setting, which shares the same site at Badgemore Primary School in Hop Gardens, will close its doors on Thursday, April 2.
Marina Sturmey, the company director at MNS Kids, which runs the pre-school, said the closure was down to “rising employment costs” and the “wider economic climate”.
“It is no longer viable for us to continue operating,” she said. “This is not a decision we ever imagined having to make and we understand how significant this change will feel.
“In the coming weeks, we will work closely with each family to provide guidance, reassurance and a smooth transition for their children.”
The nursery declined to comment further on what support it would be giving to parents and its staff.
MNS Kids is also responsible for Turville Forest School Nursery and Turville Nursery Northend. They remain unaffected by the decision to close the Henley centre.
Tim Hoskins, headteacher at Badgemore Primary School, said that while the school rents the space to the nursery, they are not the same organisation.
He said: “We are looking to get a replacement nursery in as soon as possible – we were only informed about the current place closing on Monday.
“We want to find a replacement as soon as we can – but also something which suits our ethos and standards.”
