Buckingham have no answer to amber and blues

Buckingham have no answer to amber and blues

HENLEY LADIES 1sts got back to winning ways at Jubilee Park on Saturday as they thrashed Buckingham 7-0 in their Division 3A encounter.

The home side started strongly and took an early lead via Keira Halloran in the second minute of the game.

Henley continued to pile on the pressure and player-of-the-match Emma Walker fired the ball home to make it 2-0.

Following a quick break captain Georgie Metcalfe got on the end of a through ball and skilfully took it round the keeper to give Henley a 3-0 lead at half-time.

Henley continued the second half as they started the first. Halloran netted her second of the match getting onto the end of a well worked cross.

Sophie Hoskins made it 5-0 as the ball broke to her at the top of the D from a short corner. The Henley defence remained strong despite several threatening counterattacks from the away team.

The last five minutes saw Louisa England knock the ball in after a deflected cross and Charlotte Cockerton finished the scoring with a last minute goal.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Henley travel to Wycombe.
