HENLEY U10s’ two sides impressed at the Thames Valley tournament held at Reading on Sunday where they lost just one game while scoring 16 goals.
The Henley Panthers won all four of their matches conceding only once. Goals were scored by Ailish James (3), Toby Phillips (2), Danny McAllister and Lachlan Nye.
Bradbury controlled the defensive unit guiding both Gummer and Bureau who tackled strongly all morning while Moore and Nye held the centre of midfield, working hard in attack and defence.
James, playing up front, showed good positional play, earning herself three goals. She was ably supported by both Gummer and Bureau, whose pass set up the last goal. Phillips used his pace and skills down the left wing to frustrate the opposition and scored a second goal in the final game. McAllister dominated the right wing, sending crosses in to frustrate the opposition. The Henley Tigers won two matches, drew one and lost one. Goals were scored by Charlie Shaw (3), Annie Williams (2), Lilyarna Franklin (2), Monty Heath and Enzo Cheesman.
Shaw, Cheesman and Heath were strong in midfield, putting in some good tackles and creating attacking moves.
