Painter bags five as hosts make progress

DAVID PAINTER bagged five goals to help Henley progressed to the semi-finals of the HA Trophy Over 40s competition on Sunday.

From the start Henley pressed the Bournemouth back line to good effect and dominated possession and field position.

The early pressure brought a short corner on four minutes. From a well worked routine Painter opened his afternoon’s account with a neat deflection from Tony Gaze’s pass from the top of the circle.

Despite the promising start and early lead Henley struggled to make their superiority tell for much of the half.

Bournemouth slowly played themselves into the contest as the half wore on, but Feasey, in the home goal, was rarely troubled in the opening period, bar a fine save low to his left from a drilled short corner.
