HENLEY Hockey Club’s ladies’ first team secured their place in the last four of the National Trophy as they won
HENLEY Hockey Club’s ladies’ first team secured their place in the last four of the National Trophy as they won 2-0 away at Colchester on Sunday.
The visitors started the game at a fast tempo with Esme Emmett soon wreaking havoc in the opposition defence. Attack after attack came with Lou England and Kat Green producing some sublime hockey and 10 minutes in Henley had the ball in the net from a Rachel Herbert short corner but the umpire disallowed the goal.
Henley pushed forward more and more in the second half and after 56 minutes the forwards played in Herbert whose shot was saved, but the rebound fell to Ellie Roseff who slotted home. Shortly after sisters Herbert and Emmett combined to seal the victory.
Henley will now face North Notts at home on their Jubilee Park pitch in the semi-finals on March 24.
