High flyers held at Jubilee Park

THE Henley Development side picked up another point in the Trysports Three Counties League Division 5 against promotion chasing Marlow

THE Henley Development side picked up another point in the Trysports Three Counties League Division 5 against promotion chasing Marlow on Saturday.

During the first half Henley held strong and frequent offences were made into the Marlow D, aided by first time players Tess Hearn and Rebecca Page.

During a break made by Marlow, goalkeeper Maddy Teboe pulled off a spectacular save, sending the ball back toward the opposition’s half.

Henley continued to dominate the match with most of the play in the Marlow half. A penalty corner was gained but the ball went narrowly wide of the post.

A few minutes later another penalty corner was won and a goal scored but due to a misunderstanding the score was disallowed.

Henley held less control during the second half. More frequent attacks on the Henley half were fought off valiantly, with strong clearances made by Dawn Cheesman and Val Woods, two of only three adults in the team.

Two penalty corners were won by Marlow but Henley defended well both times.

Henley Ladies 4ths/Development XI: Helen Boucher, Mary Bowley, Dawn Cheesman, Lorna Cousins, Tess Hearn, Hannah Holloway, Rebecca Page, Megan Parker, Maddy Teboe, Fiona Woods, Val Woods.
